H Bedford-Tylor (?–1915)
Entry 57
Bournville, England
From 1904, Bedord-Tylor was Chief Architect and Surveyor for the model
industrial village of Bournville in England. He designed many houses
in Bournville, and had private clients as well. He died in 1915, possibly
in World War I.
This plan is a strange, non-axial design of looping and curving roads
and tightly clustered buildings. It may have fitted the site’s topography,
but it fails to provide a setting for specified public buildings and uses.
